Welcome to our website. We intend to serve as an educational resource about heart disease, cardiovascular health, causes of a heart attack, some treatment options for heart disease and heart healthy living so heart attacks may be prevented. As we are not cardiologists or physicians, our role is to collect factual information from doctors and credible resources. We will consult government websites, would renowned clinics, medical journals and some cardiologists.
The motivation behind creating this website is simple: heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. We firmly believe that education about the causes of heart attacks and subsequent information about mitigating those risks can and will save lives. Certainly, some people are going to choose to live their life to the fullest and without concern for potential health risks. It’s our goal to show people that some small changes in lifestyle can go a long way to living a heart health lifestyle. There are so many things we can do to get a little more exercise, reduce the fat content in our food and reduce stress that go a long way to heart healthy living.
As we build this website, we’re going to start with the immediate and direct causes of a heart attack. Consider that a heart attack happens, the immediate cause may have been coronary artery disease (buildup of plaque overtime in the coronary arteries), or it could have been a severe spasm of the coronary artery. There are several direct causes. After we list the direct causes of a heart attack, we’ll then delve into the indirect causes.
For example, indirect causes of Coronary Artery Disease may be a sustained high cholesterol diet and limited exercise over time. An indirect cause of a severe spasm of the coronary artery could be a drug overdose or high blood pressure.
Our goal is to go through the causes of a heart attack, break down the causes, direct and indirect, and then focus on what is preventable. Many preventable heart diseases can be avoided with a heart healthy diet and regular exercise. We find that it is all about building heart healthy habit patterns and it is the changing of personal habit patterns that is one of the most difficult hurdles to overcome. We’ll do our best to find heart healthy solutions that minimize the impact on your lifestyle!
